Elden Ring has its fair share of unique bosses. These bosses are located in different areas of the map, inside caves, or guarding entrances/items. Some field-type bosses only appear during the Night-Time, and you will have to change the time at a Site of Grace to face them. Night's Cavalry is one of the Field type bosses that appears in four different locations throughout the game.
Night's Cavalry usually roams around one small area on his horse at Night-Time. Engaging him or getting close will initiate the fight. The boss fight is relatively easier than other bosses you will face in Weeping Peninsula.

The Night's Cavalry is one of the first bosses you will encounter in Weeping Peninsula if you explore the area in Night-Time. The boss can be seen roaming along the main path leading to Castle Mourn. Fighting the boss is entirely optional; you can ignore him and go forward regardless of the time.
Defeating the enemy, however, will get you the Nightrider Flail (Melee Weapon) and Ash of War: Barricade Shield.
Night's Cavalry Attacks
Night's Cavalry does not have a wide variety of attacks and will only use two attacks most of the time. Similar to the Tree Sentinel boss fight, the camera in this fight will move a lot because of how the boss travels around the area. Every attack can be found below, along with some tips on how to avoid them.
Strategies
There are three strategies for this fight: dodging and counter-attacking for melee users, sprinting on Torrent, or poking the boss at a range.
Melee Strategy
The melee strategy revolves around perfecting your dodge timings. You need to make sure that you do not greed attack as you can die in a hit or two. Bringing an extended-reach weapon is helpful as you can poke the boss more. Getting used to the boss's attacks and using invincibility frames to roll through can save you from any damage. Dodging is the preferable option to blocking for this fight. This is because blocking will take a lot of Stamina and might break your stance sometimes.
Using Guard Counter is not an option in this fight as the boss usually moves out of reach after attacking.
If your attacks land both on the boss and his stead, the horse can die, and he will fall over. This gives you enough time to get a free couple of hits before he gets back up. If you are close to him after he loses his steed, then he will fight you on the ground. If you roll away from him, he will summon his horse again.
Mounted Strategy
With your summoned mount, Torrent, you can run through the boss's attacks and attack him from behind. Because of your mount's speed, you will most likely dodge most of the attacks with ease. All you need to do is wait for the boss to use his slash attack and rush to counter-attack. You also have the option to attack either side while on the mount by pressing your left or right bumpers.
Ranged Strategy
For the ranged strategy, you need to keep your distance. If you are aiming for Sorcery, then make sure to bring Swift Glintstone Shard (Sorcery) and Glintstone Arc (Sorcery). You will probably always be away from the sweep attack but make sure to dodge the Leap attack. If you are using a Bow, then going for a Shortbow is recommended as it fires much quicker than the other bows.
Tips
- Heavy jump attacks can prove helpful as they cover a small distance and aim at his poise.
- Rest at the Church of Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace to restart this fight without dying.
- Should this fight prove too difficult, you can leave the area and come back later when you level up more.
- Using Spirits in this fight can be very useful as the boss will go down very quickly, aggroing multiple targets.
